ingham county sunrise program

Context

In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Ingham County launched the Ingham County Sunrise Program to support local businesses impacted by the pandemic. Ingham County tasked Lansing Economic Area Partnership with disbursing funds to eligible community organizations and businesses that would support other impacted businesses. 

Ourspace was selected to lead this charge by offering free services to local businesses to grow and sustain local businesses while increasing brand awareness for businesses in the region. 

Planning & Strategy

Utilizing Ourspace’s network of 100+ small/local businesses, we conducted surveys to see what services would be most useful for businesses looking to grow and increase brand awareness. The feedback identified video promotion, professional development/training, and consultation for fundraising and strategic marketing as the most needed services. 

With this information in mind, Ourspace scheduled eleven 60-second promotional videos with different businesses in the region, created a “Building Community Through your StoryBrand” 101 and 201 training for regional business owners, and provided consultation for strategic marketing and fundraising for seven businesses. 

Execution

Ourspace produced promotional videos for eleven organizations, providing high-quality marketing assets to increase brand awareness for small/local businesses. 

We also attracted over 60 businesses/business owners to our marketing series, Building Community Through Your StoryBrand. According to post surveys, businesses that received video production attended the professional development opportunity or participated in a free consultation all stated the services went beyond their expectations and that they would work with Ourspace again in the future.
